Deba Kumar Barman – Lucky to be born to an extremely loving couple,Dr. Pramod Chandra Barman and Mrs Debajani Barman in a simple conventional family, I started my career in Doordarshan in the year 1993 and to a great extent was successful in satisfying the creative instincts which I had from childhood A few years from then, I created my very own brand J14 which was established in the year 1997.
I started my entrepreneurial journey with my hard-earned saved money and with a vision to become an entrepreneur of a progressive growing organization in Northeast which will ultimately reach the national standards. I wanted to capitalize the opportunities available in the NESA(North Eastern States and Assam) in food service industry as I had already qualified in Hotel and Catering management.
I had sensed during my stay in Doordarshan, moving and working all over Assam and the Northeast that there is a huge potential for FOOD & CATERING business in the Northeast. So, with my honesty, integrity and passion, I started executing my dream into ‘reality’ in the form of the popular brands J14, Kolkata Roll and Shillong Momo.
Today, to quite an extent, I feel I have been able to achieve a tiny bit of my dream …but I have lots to achieve and miles to go before I sleep.
